Have you ever felt not worthy of someone's love? Ever felt that heart - wrenching pain when he told you that he doesn't love you anymore? Or maybe felt like ripping your heart off your chest because of the endless pain of rejection? How about seeing your ex-BF (who you still have feelings for) with another girl and realized he's totally moved on and totally forgot about you. Isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck, fantastic? Note the sarcasm? Obvs. It hurts. So friggin' hurts.

We all came to a point of our lives where out hearts got broken by the ones we loved the most. But that shouldn't make you feel worthless, broken or depressed. It should serve as a wake up call from the wrong fantasies that made us forget about the reality.

I found this article on the world wide web and thought I'd share it to everyone, most especially to the broken hearted peeps out there. It's not the end of the world, you just need to get up, pick up the broken pieces and move on. For starters, read the list below and start to get yourself together.

    1. The genuine, loving emotion that breaks your heart is oftentimes the same emotion that will heal it, gradually, over time.

    2. The person you liked or loved in the past, who treated you like dirt repeatedly, has nothing intellectually or spiritually to offer you in the present moment, but more headaches and heartache.

    3. You can mull it over and obsess and obsess about how things turned out – what you did wrong or should have done differently – but there’s no point.  It will NOT change anything right now!

    4. Some chapters in our lives have to close without closure.  There’s no point in losing yourself by trying to hold on to what’s not meant to stay.

    5. Seven letters.  Two words.  One saying.  It can either cut you open to the core and leave you in horrific pain, or it can free your heart and soul and lift an incredible weight off your shoulders.  The saying is: It’s over!

    6. When you don’t get what you want, sometimes it’s necessary preparation, and other times it’s necessary protection.  But the time is never wasted.  It’s a step on your journey.  (Read The Road Less Traveled.)

    7. Someday you’re going look back on this time in your life as such an important time of grieving and growing.  You will see that you were in mourning and your heart was breaking, but your life was changing.

    8. Transitions in life are the perfect opportunity to let go of one situation to embrace something even better coming your way.

    9. One of the hardest lessons to learn: You cannot change other people.  Every interaction, rejection and heartbreaking lesson is an opportunity to change yourself only.

    10. Be determined to be positive.  Understand that the greater part of your misery or unhappiness from this point forward is determined not by your circumstances, but by your attitude.

    11. Life and God both have greater plans for you that don’t involve crying at night or believing that you’re broken.

    12. It’s always better to be alone than to be in bad company.  And when you do decide to give someone a chance, do so because you’re truly better off with this person.  Don’t do it just for the sake of not being alone.

    13. When someone rejects you it doesn’t mean you need to also reject yourself or think of yourself as less worthy.  It doesn’t mean that nobody will ever want you anymore.  Remember that there are billions of people in the world and only ONE person has rejected you.  And it only hurts so bad right now because, to you, that one person’s opinion represented the opinion of the whole world.  But that’s not the truth.

    14. Sometimes it takes a broken heart to shake you awake and help you see that you are worth so much more than you were settling for.  (Angel and I discuss this in more detail in the “Self-Love” chapter of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.)

    15. When you lose someone or something, don’t think of it as a loss, but as a gift that lightens your load so you can better travel the path meant for you.

    16. Anything that hurts you today only makes you stronger in the end.

    17. When all is said and done, grief is the price you pay for love.  And it’s better to have loved, lost and learned, than to have never loved at all.

    18. A broken heart is just the growing pains necessary so that you can love more completely when the real thing comes along.

Give yourself a chance to love again, to feel again, and to live again.

This time last year, I passed the National Board Examination for Medical Technologists. I've finally accomplished my dream and got the last three letters after my name. I became a Registered Medical Technologist also referred to as Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science, after four years of hardship in college.

BS in Medical Technology was my second choice for my pre - med course and I must admit it wasn't the easiest pre - med program. It will really take your guts and hard work to finish this course. They say that it's the best preparatory course for Medicine. Med. Tech. subjects would help you a lot during your 1st and 2nd years in medicine. A good choice indeed.

Right now, I enjoy working as a Medical Technologist in a free standing laboratory but if God permits I'm still planning to pursue medicine in the future.

    Going back to my first year in college, these are the courses I considered taking before;

    PHARMACY

This was my first choice to serve as my pre - medicine course. Unfortunately, the pharmacy program was not offered in the university I was accepted in. Pharmacy was a clear choice before because I've always loved doing laboratory works and conduct experiments.

    PSYCHOLOGY

This was my third choice before. Either BS Psych or AB Psych. I've always been fascinated with how the human mind works and also with human behavior. During my first year in college, General Psychology was included in the Medical Technology curriculum and I really love and enjoyed my classes. Clearly, healthcare was my first choice career.

MEDICAL DOCTOR ( since childhood )

I've always dreamed working as a doctor, diagnosing and treating other people's sickness. In my opinion, being a doctor is a fulfilling and rewarding career for me, helping the patients with all their might and giving them the best treatment they could offer. I still think that medicine is the right path for me.

    LAWYER ( just recently )

I don't know when I started considering this. Maybe when I started watching the TV series, How to Get Away with Murder and a few episodes of Law and Order. I've always been fascinated with crimes, murders, different cases ( not that I'm a psychotic or what). I'm amazed on how the lawyers defend their clients, guilty or not, they still win the cases. The way they investigate and reveal truths from the evidences they gathered, it's pretty amazing and mind - blowing.

We all have at least one guilty pleasure that we'd rather not confess or divulge to anyone because we're a little ashamed about it. We know it's not good for us, but we do it anyway because it makes us feel a little better when we're pressured, troubled, gloomy or trying to suppress a craving. I for one have a few of these habits that I have no plans on breaking anytime soon. Those little quirks that I know I shouldn’t like and don’t admit to liking but secretly have an undying passion for. Don't judge me. Hahaha

    Coffee or Latte Fix

There's something about coffee that just makes me want to drink it every single day. So I do. An average of 3-4 cups of coffee I consume on a daily basis, I know it's a bit higher than most people. I need the caffeine boost to function well in work and help me deal with different types of patients. Sometimes, 2 cups of coffee are doable for me.

    Long Baths (or showers)

I usually spend 30 minutes to 1 hour (or longer) shower time at night, before going to bed. It helps me calm down my senses and serves as an instant mood booster. This is also the perfect time to sort out my thoughts and contemplate about my life. It also helps me to have a good night sleep.

    Movie / TV Time

Telly time is such a huge part of my routine. At the end of the day, when I get home from work, I love to watch the reruns of my favorite TV shows, while eating dinner and prepping for the next day. I usually watch reruns of FRIENDS or HIMYM and sometimes I go for a heavier approach like in How to Get Away with Murder.

    Pajama Days

I've always loved to spend my days off, sitting around lazily in my jammies with nothing else to do. Most of the time I stay in bed, in my pjs, watching a movie with a cup of hot coffee and not leaving the house. No "shoulds", "have tos" are allowed. Sorry not sorry.

    Ice creams

I love ice cream more than chocolate. Would prefer binge - eating a pint of coffee - flavored ice cream rather than eating a whole bar of Cadbury or any other brand of chocolate for that matter. It's not that I hate chocolates or something, it's just that the coldness and sweetness mixed together of an ice cream makes my heart all jolly. There is nothing better than a scoop of ice cream, not only on a hot day but also for mending a broken heart. I scream for ice cream! Hahaha. ♥

    TV TIME ♥

I've always loved watching TV but it's not the usual shows in my local cable I'm interested in. I usually find myself watching international TV sitcoms rather than watching the local teleseryes aired in our local channel. I find them a bit predictable and downright tacky. And of course, the story line is always the same, it's kind of boring to keep up with.

As this TV time is such a huge part of my routine, I thought I’d share a few of the shows I watch in a daily basis. Some of the shows are already off the air, so it's the reruns I watch over and over again.  And based on my list, I’d love to hear your recommendations, too!
